Rising Brazilian Striker Joins OCB for 2026 MLS NEXT Pro Campaign, Pending International Clearance

Orlando City B (OCB), the reserve squad of Orlando City SC, has officially announced the acquisition of Brazilian forward Pedro Leão from the U-20 team of CR Flamengo, one of Brazil’s most storied football clubs. The move, which is contingent upon the receipt of Leão’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa, positions the promising striker to bolster OCB’s roster for the upcoming 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season. Leão’s arrival is seen as a significant step for both the player and the club, offering the young talent a new platform for development while infusing OCB with the technical prowess and competitive experience honed at Flamengo’s renowned academy.

Ricardo Moreira, General Manager and Sporting Director for Orlando City SC, highlighted Leão’s potential, noting that the forward’s background at Flamengo—one of the world’s premier clubs—provides a strong foundation for his continued growth. Moreira emphasized that joining OCB offers Leão an ideal environment to further his development and contribute the experience gained from his time in Flamengo’s academy.

Pedro Henrique Leão Alves Lopes, known professionally as Pedro Leão, was born on June 28, 2006, in Brazil. Standing at 1.83 meters (approximately 6 feet), Leão is a right-footed forward whose primary position is center-forward, though he has also featured as an attacking midfielder. At 19 years old, he brings a blend of youthful energy and advanced technical skills to his new club.
